RELY ON THE HEATING EXPERTS

For nearly 80 years, Hotstart has been the leader in cold weather heating solutions. Rely on the heating experts to keep your e-vehicles charged and ready to work, regardless of the weather.

Oil heating in cold weather is essential for e-vehicle performance. When too cold, oil viscosity increases making it difficult for the fluid to move through gear boxes, differentials or axels properly. The result - reduced lubrication to critical components, increased pressure, and excessive wear.

Keeping oil heated with an immersion element is more effective and environmentally sound for keeping oil flowing than idling to maintain equipment heat.

Lithium ion batteries perform best when kept at their optimal temperature range of 60-80 °F. E-vehicle battery performance degrades when not in constant use in cold temperatures. Operating range of e-vehicles are limited when its batteries can’t fully charge/discharge properly. And repeated low temperature charging may also cause battery plating/dendrite growth which can result in possible thermal runaway.

Heating batteries with circulating coolant loops and heat exchangers during cold conditions maximizes battery performance, allows for more effective charge/discharge cycles, minimizes plating/dendrite growth, and improves overall battery life.
